As a volunteer in the Oriel Community EPIcentre project, you will become part of a local network working on community building, social inclusion, participation and peace education. You will regularly take part in activities at Centro Culturale 6 Maggio and Spazio LINK, supporting workshops, community events and initiatives with young people and residents. You will also experience complementary activities with other local organisations, meeting people from different social, cultural and generational backgrounds. Throughout the project, you will progressively develop skills in facilitation, non-formal education, intercultural dialogue, active listening and nonviolent communication. Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Oriel will pay housing expenses for the duration of the project. Volunteers will be hosted in a shared flat. The accommodation is close to the Centro Culturale, not far away from the city centre. Volunteers will receive the Pocket money. The money will be sufficient to cover daily expenses (household expenses, food, personal expenses, etc.). - Total pocket money+food money=350โฌ Travel expenses are cover by European Solidarity Corps, being reimbursed after the volunteer travels. Training during the activity
The hosting org. will support volunteers throughout the whole ESC experience through orientation, continuous mentoring, guidance and learning support. Volunteers will participate in the official ESC training cycle, including on-arrival training and mid-term evaluation coordinated by the Italian NA. Through daily activities, they will develop skills in facilitation, non-formal education, intercultural dialogue, teamwork and nonviolent communication. When Oriel hosts international Erasmus+ projects, volunteers may also have the opportunity to participate and support their implementation.
Participant profile
To be eligible for this opportunity, you should: - Be 18โ30 years old. - Be motivated to engage in community work, social inclusion, intercultural dialogue and peacebuilding. - Be open-minded, empathetic, adaptable and respectful. - Be willing to work with people from different backgrounds and situations of vulnerability. - Be interested in non-formal education, community participation and learning by doing. - Be ready to cooperate, take initiative and progressively assume responsibility. - Have a working knowledge of English; Italian is an advantage. - Be able to ride a bike. - Please ensure you have a valid long-stay visa or permit that allows you to stay in Italy for the entire 12-month volunteer period.
