Description
Interra is a non-profit organization for the inclusion of migrants and the awareness of issues of migration, social cohesion and cultural difference through creativity, art and culture. Interra’s aim is to create meeting spaces between people recently arrived in Liege territory and local people, through the showcasing of their talents, know-how and passions, in order to create a more inclusive society. Their target group are adults. Tasks will be various, but mostly will consist in helping with the Inter’Act project, meaning organising creative workshops together with Interra's audience in order to create meeting opportunities between locals and newly arrived people in the city of Liège.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
The volunteers will have a private room in a fully-equipped shared house in Liège. The volunteer will receive a budget and will take care of the meals by themselves. Participation in the European Solidarity Corps is free of charge for the participant, except for exceptional contribution to travel costs. The volunteer will receive free board and lodging during the whole activity. In addition, they will receive a small allowance (pocket money) for personal expenses throughout the duration of the activity, including holidays.
Training during the activity
Upon arrival the volunteers will receive a intercultural dialogue training organised by Interra. On-arrival and mid-term trainings organized by French-speaking NA. With the support organization in Belgium (Association des Compagnons Bâtisseurs asbl, "CBB"): residential weekends and networking activities with other ESC volunteers on other projects supported by CBB in the French-speaking part of Belgium. The volunteers should be ready to take an active part in the collective networking activities and can count on many local resources to create personal projects.
