PhEU – Philosophize EU is a fully funded Erasmus+ Training Course in the Belluno Dolomites of northern Italy, from 21 to 30 October 2026, for youth workers who want to explore what Europe means today through a philosophical, historical and ethical lens. Organised by Mimma Dreams APS (project code 2026-1-IT03-KA153-YOU-000397941), PhEU uses non-formal education, experiential learning and philosophical dialogue to help youth workers strengthen critical thinking, democratic participation and active citizenship in their work with young people.
What Is PhEU About?
PhEU is a training course for youth workers who want to explore what Europe means today and how philosophical dialogue can support critical thinking and democratic participation. Through non-formal education, experiential learning and philosophical inquiry, participants explore Europe, citizenship, human rights and democracy in a safe, reflective space.

🕊️ It connects big themes — European values, human rights, democracy and active citizenship — to everyday youth work.
🌍 It brings together youth workers from six countries to exchange practices and build a shared toolkit.
The Objectives
The course works toward four clear objectives:
🔎 Explore Europe from philosophical, historical and ethical perspectives.
📜 Strengthen youth workers' understanding of European values and human rights.
💬 Develop skills to facilitate dialogue on complex and sensitive topics.
🌱 Provide practical methods to promote critical thinking and active citizenship among young people.

How the Programme Works
The eight days of activities (around six hours per day, balanced with breaks, meals and time to relax) move through three phases:
🧩 Creating the group and introducing the tools — team building, reflection on personal and European values, and an introduction to philosophical dialogue, systemic consensus and debate methodologies.
🏛️ Deepening Europe and Citizenship — exploring Europe, human rights and citizenship through debates, simulations, role-playing games and experiential activities, including the functioning of European institutions, non-violent communication and the Youth Work Agenda.
🔁 Transferring learning — reflecting on the process, gathering learnings, and designing the project toolkit, adapting tested activities to local contexts for real impact on youth work.
Who Can Apply?
This training course is for youth workers with legal residence or a residence permit in one of the six partner countries. The profile the organisers look for:
📍 A youth worker legally resident in Spain, Italy, Hungary, Latvia, Portugal or Greece.
🎂 Preferably aged 21–35.
🧑🏫 Actively involved in designing and facilitating educational activities, with various levels of experience in the field.
🗣️ Good command of English.
💡 Interested in Europe, active citizenship, human rights, democratic participation, philosophical thinking and non-formal education.
📣 Willing to share their experience and learnings through social media or local workshops to maximise impact.

Where You'll Be: The Belluno Dolomites
The training takes place in Voltago Agordino, near Belluno in the Veneto region, a mountain village in the heart of the Belluno Dolomites.
🏔️ Accommodation is in shared rooms at a cosy venue in the mountains.
🥗 Meals are fully vegetarian, prepared for environmental and ethical reasons.

What's Covered
According to Youth Works Hub's review of the info pack, PhEU is fully funded by the European Union:
💶 Accommodation, meals and all project activities are fully covered.
✈️ Travel is reimbursed after the project, up to €309 for participants travelling from Spain, Hungary, Latvia, Portugal or Greece, and up to €285 for participants from Italy (green travel only: train, bus or other eligible low-emission transport).
🎫 Participants buy their own tickets in advance; travel days are 21 and 30 October.
After the Course: Dissemination
All participants share their experience and promote the project and the Erasmus+ Programme locally. Each country prepares and submits one dissemination post about their PhEU experience (activities, learning outcomes and impact) and one post about their local dissemination action (how they shared it with their community, ideally with photos), to increase the visibility of the project and Erasmus+.
