Description
Join a six-month volunteering experience with children and young people in rural Transylvania!
The opportunity is open to three 18–30-year-olds who are Hungarian citizens or legally reside in Hungary. Volunteers will join Kazun Association in Plăieșii de Jos (Kászonaltíz), a small Hungarian-speaking community in the Romanian Carpathians. They will lead non-formal sessions in schools and kindergartens on environmental and civic education, soft skills and English; run after-school English clubs; and support sports, cultural and youth events. Volunteers will also organise intercultural activities, create online content and develop a personal project based on their interests and local needs. This project is ideal for those ready to immerse themselves in rural life, work creatively with children and gain practical youth-work experience.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
ACCOMMODATION: Volunteers will be accommodated in a shared apartment with one shared room and one single room, kitchen, bathroom and common area.
ALLOWANCE: 4€/day as pocket money, 6€/day as a food allowance (volunteers are responsible for organising their own meals)

Training during the activity
Volunteers will receive support throughout the activity from the coordinating and hosting organisations. They will participate in regular meetings with their mentor and coordinator to reflect on their learning process and experiences.

- valuable experience for future work or studies in related fields.
Participant profile
We are looking for 3 motivated volunteers who are interested in youth work, supporting children, living in rural areas and emerging into a rural community, surrounded by nature.
- Age: 18-30 y.o.
- Has Hungarian citizenship or residency
- B2 level of English
- motivated to play and have fun with children, while learning with them, or
- interested in social media and content creation
- ready to live in a remote area surrounded by mountains, and connect with locals.
