How the One-Year Master's Is Structured

📚 As part of the application you must apply to three different eligible UK master's courses, and by the programme's own deadline you need to hold at least one unconditional offer from among them. This gives you flexibility while making sure funded scholars actually have a confirmed place to take up.
Who Can Apply
To be eligible for a Chevening Scholarship you must meet each of these conditions:
🌍 Be a citizen of a Chevening-eligible country or territory.
🔁 Commit to returning to your home country for at least two years after your scholarship ends. This return commitment is central to the whole programme.

The Selection Process, Stage by Stage
Chevening's selection is thorough and runs across many months:
1️⃣ Application. You submit your full online application.
2️⃣ Sift. An electronic eligibility check filters out applications that do not meet the criteria.
3️⃣ Independent reading committees. Eligible applications are scored and ranked by independent readers.
4️⃣ Shortlisting (around February). The British embassy or high commission shortlists candidates for interview.
