โญ๏ธ Activity Title
Promoting solidarity among youth and seniors
๐ Everything you need to know about applying for ESC volunteering โ all in one place. The European Solidarity Corps (ESC) is one of the most life-changing opportunities available to young people across Europe, yet many applicants walk in without a clear picture of what to expect. This complete guide covers how ESC works, who can apply, what costs are covered, what your daily life as a volunteer looks like, and how to strengthen your application from the start. Whether you're applying for the first time or exploring your options, this is the one resource you should read before anything else. ๐ https://youthworkshub.org/15101/
๐ท Activity Details
Description
We would like your help in conducting activities in our Golden Age Centre, with our seniors. You'd be there to assist them during activities and organize your activities. For example, you love to cook? Do you have your favourite dish that you love to cook for others? Great! You can organize a culinary workshop and prepare your favourite local dishes! Or you play an instrument or you like to sing? Join our seniors in a music workshop and maybe teach them a song in your language :) We will also need your help in organizing public events around various important dates (International Day of Older Persons, celebration of International volunteer Day, etc.) and also in organizing educational activities for youth. With youth you can organize various workshops and educational activities for example on active participation in the society, solidarity or maybe you can share your experience in volunteering! More info on our past activities: https://www.vcst.info/o-volonterskom-radu/ess-program.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accomodation: you will have a private (not shared with other volunteer!) room near the city center (and near our organisation) in double bedroom appartment. The kitchen, living room and the bathroom are shared. Getting around: Walking distance to the city centre (5 minutes) and our main office. We will cover your travel costs (emphasis on green travel), accommodation, overhead costs and 8โฌ per day for your living expenses ( once per month payment), as well as guaranteed allowance of 10โฌ per day (also once per month payment). Health insurance is covered.
Training during the activity
Orientation will be provided for volunteers upon arrival. We will introduce you to the organisation, our work and employees. We will clearly communicate what is required of you for each task. For each volunteers' task, you will receive special instructions, education if necessary and additional support from a mentor. In addition, the mentor will help the volunteer in his easier integration into the work environment, but also into society in general by proposing activities to spend the volunteer's free time. All volunteers will have the opportunity to learn languages online.
Participant profile
We are looking for motivated, responsible, and proactive young people who wish to dedicate their time, knowledge, and energy to working with older adults, but also with youth in the Volunteer Centre Split. We particularly value openness to teamwork, strong communication skills, a willingness to learn, and an interest in developing and implementing new activities that enhance the quality of life of older people.
We expect future volunteers to be initiative-taking, reliable, and empathetic, with the ability to independently or collaboratively facilitate educational, creative, social, and other activities tailored to the interests and needs of programme participants. We are seeking individuals who are eager to gain new experiences, develop their personal and professional skills, and actively contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive community.
