Description
The tasks will vary throughout the volunteering period and may include supporting small-town projects, assisting with Erasmus+ projects in El Borge and other towns, participating in local initiatives, and developing personal projects related to rural youth.
Supporting and coordinating projects:
- Assist with project development and preparation.
- Lead activities.
- Support communication and logistics.
- Volunteers may also have the opportunity to develop and implement their own projects.
Supporting local projects:
- Support activities at the local cultural centre and museum.
- Visit and support the local school on a weekly basis.
- Support cooperation with Asociación El Pasero.
- Support El Día de la Pasa and Día de las Ánimas and other days.
Creating your own small projects:
- Language workshops.
- Cultural and intercultural activities.
- Other initiatives related to your own interests and rural youth.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Working Hours
- Volunteers will work 5 days per week, 30–35 hours per week.
- Working hours may vary between mornings and evenings, depending on the activities and project needs
- Language immersion and mentoring sessions are included
Working Days
- Typically, Wednesday to Sunday will be working days, with Monday and Tuesday as rest days.
Financial Conditions
- Food Allowance: €200 per month for self-managed meals.
- Pocket Money: €6 per day (€180 per month).
- Travel Budget: Approximately €360 for travel costs.
- Health Insurance will be provided for the entire volunteering period.
- Vacation: 2 vacation days per month.
Training during the activity
During the volunteering activity, volunteers will receive regular training and mentoring. Training will focus on Spanish language learning, Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps opportunities, youth work and non-formal education, and the design of activities and youth projects. Volunteers will also learn about project management, communication and dissemination. Training will combine practical sessions, mentoring, participation in real activities and learning by doing.

We are looking for motivated young people aged 18–30 from European countries who would like to live in a small Andalusian village and contribute to the cultural, educational, and social life of El Borge.
Who can apply?
We welcome young people who are looking for new opportunities and experiences in their lives. Volunteers may be unemployed, facing educational, economic, social, or physical challenges, or have limited language skills. No previous experience is required — only curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to try, learn, and grow!
What kind of person are we looking for?
- Friendly, respectful, and positive – enjoys meeting new people and being part of a community.
- Open-minded and adaptable – ready to learn about Spanish culture and rural life and willing to take on different tasks.
- Creative and proactive – enjoys bringing new ideas, organising activities, and taking initiative.
- A team player – able to cooperate with others while also working independently when needed.
Participant Profile
Skills & Interests (not required, but very welcome!):
- Education & childcare – supporting teachers, preparing activities, decorating spaces, and playing with children.
- Artistic & creative – drawing, painting, crafts, ceramics, or music.
- Musical ability – especially piano or other instruments. This year, we are particularly interested in someone with musical skills!
- Manual skills – woodworking, painting, arts and crafts.
- Digital & media – creating social media posts, video production, podcasts, and poster design.
- Culture & tourism – learning about local history and traditions, helping with events, or supporting guided tours.
- Initiative – motivated to create and lead their own projects and activities.
Practical Qualities:
- Basic English is required; basic Spanish is strongly recommended to communicate with local people and children.
- Comfortable with small-village life and outdoor activities, such as the grape harvest, playground activities, and local celebrations.
- Open to experiencing traditional Andalusian festivities, such as Semana Santa, Día de la Pasa, Romería, Christmas, and other local traditions.
