Description

In Bolivia, MdM has been carrying out initiatives focused on strengthening the public health system, promoting universal access to sexual and reproductive health, preventing teenage pregnancy, addressing gender-based violence, improving women’s health, and raising awareness of the causes and consequences of discrimination against women. The volunteer will be based in La Paz and his/her tasks will be: - Support the proper administrative and accounting operations of Médicos del Mundo in Bolivia; - Assist with project budget formulation and monitoring; - Prepare basic financial reports; - Record and file HR documentation; - Assist with the publication of job postings and the receipt of applications; - Organize interviews and coordinating with candidates; - Assist with the preparation of candidate profiles and employment certificates; - Update the personnel and volunteer database; - Assist in the implementation, and updating of administrative and financial manuals. 

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will reside in the city of La Paz, where Médicos del Mundo's main office is located, from where, according to the established schedule, he or she will travel to the intervention areas of the projects being carried out (departments of Pando and Santa Cruz). Accommodation, return flights, visa and vaccination costs, health insurance and equipment (laptop and mobile phone) will be provided during deployment. Transportation and accommodation will be provided for all work-related travel. The volunteer will also receive a monthly allowance of 640 € for their personal expenses. 

Training during the activity
  • Gain firsthand experience with the implementation of projects carried out by Médicos del Mundo in Bolivia by being part of the team.
  • Assist in monitoring and tracking the financial management of current projects.
  • Become familiar with the current labor, tax, and contractual legal framework in Bolivia.

Participant profile

- Economics background or other disciplines relevant to the role. - Interest in International Cooperation, Development and/or Humanitarian Action. - Knowledge of Microsoft Office, data management tools and digital platforms. - Spanish essential. - Strategic Vision, Leadership, Teamwork, Collaboration, and Stress Resistance. - Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Internet). Eligibility : Candidates must be 18 to 35 years old, reside in one of the eligible countries (EU Member State, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Turkey), have completed the compulsory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training and not have participated before in individual Humanitarian Aid Volunteering. When adding together this new volunteering opportunity and any previous participation in EU volunteering programmes, the total duration cannot exceed 12 months.
