Description
You will contribute to the project management for surveillance activities, contributing to the analysis and dissemination of surveillance indicators, drafting analysis and alert reports, maintaining the internet visualization and dissemination platforms (GeoSahel.info, SigSahel.info, DashBoard Power BI) and participating in forums and workshops in the sub-region and internationally. You will support fundraising efforts, promote DRR and surveillance activities presentation to stakeholders and contribute to the drafting of project proposals, monitoring budgets and deadlines, and reporting, and establishing relations and liaising with partners and donors. You will also prepare and participate to training sessions and field missions and contribute to the analysis of the impact of climate change and environmental degradation on the food security of pastoral populations, reviewing literature and secondary data collection, and analyse available data.
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
We cover your accommodation, travel, visa, medical checkup and vaccinations costs, and you will be provided with monthly pocket money for your free time and personal hygiene. During the deployment you will be provided with a laptop and phone of the organization to ensure the means to carry out the activities. In case of belonging to one of the Fewer Opportunities categories (please, check the details with the organization) additional inclusion measures and benefits will be applied.
Training during the activity
During the deployment you will have access to the full catalog of training courses offered on ACF Virtual Campus and will have the opportunity to benefit from additional external courses.
Participant profile
You have preferably master’s studies and interest in environmental sciences, agricultural engineering, agronomy, or geography. Training in Geographic Information Systems and database management would be an asset. You are fluent in French, with professional proficiency in English and excellent written and verbal communication capacity. You are able to find solutions and deliver quality results on time. Strongly motivated, you are a goal-oriented team-worker, with effective communication, organization and planning skills. Project Management, early warning, surveillance, and monitoring systems knowledge is an asset. Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools for office automation. Experience in a developing country is an asset.
