The Internship Programme aims to attract talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM's programmes and activities. This internship is with the Korea Visa Application Center (KVAC), and the intern will assist with its daily operational activities.
What You Will Do
Working under the overall direction of the Chief of Mission, and under the direct supervision of the Team Leader of the Korea Visa Application Center, the intern will:
๐ฎ Assist the KVAC team on daily activities, including receiving and sorting visa applications delivered by post, passport and document logistics, and ordering visa application supporting documents according to the relevant checklist
๐ Assist the KVAC team on document completeness checks for certain visa types, including university degree (D-2), Korean language trainee (D-4), exchange student (D-2-6) and confirmation of visa issuance (CVI) visa applications, in due coordination with the Visa Support Assistant
๐ Assist the KVAC team with communications to the beneficiaries, following the standard operating procedures in place, including contacting visa applicants for missing documents or for passport collection
๐ค Attend project meetings and training sessions with the project coordinator and the other KVAC teams in Paris, London, The Hague and Ulaanbaatar
๐ Assist the KVAC team with the preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reports

Who Can Apply
Interns must be between 20 and 36 years of age and should have less than two years of relevant working experience. In general, the programme is aimed at talented students and graduates who have a specific interest in, or whose studies have covered, areas relevant to IOM's programmes and activities; who are enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (a bachelor's level or equivalent), or who have graduated in the last 12 months. For this internship, you should be a student or graduate, preferably in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences or a similar field. The role requires English.

Funding
Depending on experience and location, interns are granted a small monthly stipend to help offset costs. Interns benefiting from an internship allowance or scholarship granted by their university or another sponsoring body, that includes financial remuneration or credits for coursework, will not be eligible for the stipend. IOM covers interns against occupational accidents and illnesses under the Compensation Plan, free of charge, for the duration of the internship. IOM does not provide evacuation or medical insurance for reasons related to non-occupational accidents and illnesses, so interns are responsible for their own medical insurance for non-occupational accident or illness and must provide written proof of such coverage before commencing work. Any offer is subject to funding confirmation, and appointment is subject to certification of medical fitness, accreditation, any residency or visa requirements, and security clearances.
