The World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian organization, saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change. The Office of Inspections and Investigations (OIGI) is part of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG). OIGI's mission is to conduct inspections and investigations into allegations of wrongdoing and misconduct, establishing facts and providing sufficient evidence and analysis to determine whether a reported allegation has occurred, so that WFP management can take appropriate action. OIGI investigations may involve WFP personnel, cooperating partners, vendors, and other external parties.

Duties and Responsibilities
๐ค Assist in integrating AI services into investigative processes and support the development of AI and machine learning models on a Microsoft Azure platform
๐ป Contribute to coding and scripting tasks using Python, Java, and HTML to automate workflows and enhance data processing capabilities
โ๏ธ Design automation and streamlining processes using Microsoft Power Automate and Azure Logic Apps
๐ Support API integration to ensure seamless connectivity between various software applications and platforms
โ๏ธ Assist in the development of projects utilizing Microsoft Azure services for AI model deployment and cloud resource management
๐ Participate in data analysis and interpretation, assisting in generating insights and reports from AI model outputs
๐ Document development and integration processes to ensure clear records for future reference and audits

Standard Minimum Qualifications
๐ Be currently enrolled in an undergraduate programme (for example a Bachelor's degree) from a recognized university and have completed at least two years of the programme; OR be currently enrolled in a graduate programme (for example a Master's degree); OR be a recent graduate from an undergraduate or graduate programme (within six months prior to the application to the internship programme)
๐ Class attendance in the last 12 months of enrolment in a recognized university
๐ Excellent written and spoken English is required (proficiency level C). Working knowledge of another official UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, plus Portuguese) is an asset
Throughout their assignment, WFP interns have access to an industry-leading learning platform, weLearn, and may participate in WFP workshops or seminars as appropriate. By the end of the assignment, the intern will have gained hands-on experience working with advanced AI concepts and technologies in a real-world professional setting, developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills and gaining insight into how AI can be applied securely and ethically in complex operational environments.
Terms and Conditions
๐ถ Interns receive a monthly stipend from WFP up to the maximum amount of US$1,000 per month depending on the duty station of assignment
๐ WFP is not responsible for living expenses, arrangements for accommodation, visa requests and related costs
โ๏ธ WFP will reimburse the travel ticket for candidates who are nationals of developing countries and are pursuing their studies in their home country
๐ WFP will recognize candidates' educational credentials from recognized institutions certified by competent international or national authorities such as UNESCO or Ministries of Education
