Ready for a 6-month volunteering journey in the cultural heart of Italy? "Ravenna International" is an ESC individual volunteering placement in Ravenna, hosted by LibrAzione Cooperativa Sociale and coordinated by PiGreco-SEMI di Intercultura APS. As a volunteer, you take an active part in a range of initiatives, from supporting the Youth Information Centre to managing social media, joining local and international projects, and contributing to the activities of the local Youth Centre and hosting organisation. You also play a key role in children's non-formal education at the local Youth and Family Centre, fostering learning and engagement in a dynamic community environment.


๐ŸŒ Our Mission and the Project

The primary goal of the project is to create a multicultural environment in Ravenna. The team hopes to achieve this by uniting European volunteers with local staff and volunteers, forming a collaborative community that celebrates diversity and promotes mutual understanding. The vision is to weave together a rich tapestry of cultures, fostering common values of tolerance and peace within a vibrant city. All activities follow a learning-by-doing approach within the frame of non-formal education.

๐Ÿข Our Organisation

LibrAzione is a social cooperative operating in the field of migration, social inclusion, culture, European projects, and more. Two key spaces are part of the experience:

๐Ÿ“š Informagiovani is a youth information centre providing resources for young people to find a job, make a CV, and access European opportunities. It organises several youth events and hosts a podcast every Friday, working in collaboration with the Municipality of Ravenna and the Europe Direct Romagna Office, so you will also be in touch with them and their volunteer.

๐Ÿงฉ Agorร  and QB are multifunctional spaces for young people aged 6 to 18, offering educational support, workshops, field trips, educational activities, and support for achieving school autonomy, liaising with social services, families, and the school.

A city in Emilia-Romagna with a population of 160,000, Ravenna is a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its Byzantine mosaics. This intimate city blends tradition with modernity and offers excellent connectivity to Bologna and Florence. Emilia-Romagna is located in north-central Italy, well connected with both the north and the south, with the Apennine Mountains and the Adriatic seaside, its main city being Bologna, and it is famous for food such as lasagne and ragรน sauce.

๐Ÿ  Accommodation

Volunteers stay in a fully furnished apartment in the city centre of Ravenna, in a single room within a flat shared with another volunteer. The shared flat comes with a bathroom, a shared kitchen, and a living room, with all the basic necessities to live comfortably, and all utilities are paid.

๐ŸŒด Every month you have 2 extra days off, adding up to 12 days off per 6 months


๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿง‘ Participant Profile

The project is looking for 1 motivated volunteer aged 18 to 30. Selection is based solely on motivation, with no prior knowledge or experience required, and there is no discrimination based on gender, sexual orientation, ethnic group, or income. Applicants are asked to attach a motivational letter to their application, along with a reference from an adult who can vouch for them.

๐Ÿ“ฉ How to Apply

Read the description and infopack carefully, then complete the Google application form, which takes about 10 minutes. You will be asked to attach a motivational letter (no CV) and, in the last section, to provide a reference: the name, surname, email, and telephone number (with country code) of a past employer, teacher, professor, or coach, an adult who will vouch for you. Registration on the European Solidarity Corps Portal is also required.
