Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteers are provided with appropriate accommodation, which may be shared with other volunteers when deployments overlap. Each volunteer has their own lockable room. The accommodation is located near the Community Center and the volunteer's workspace. The Community Center is 13 km (approximately 8 miles) from the city center, with frequent public transport connections running every 5โ€“15 minutes depending on the line. Public transport is free of charge. A monthly allowance of 500 EUR is provided to cover food and communication costs.

Training during the activity

ADRA Serbia ensures initial and ongoing orientation training, with a consistent emphasis on self-assessment and the adjustment of arrangements to achieve maximum positive impact. Volunteers have the opportunity to attend training workshops in various formats and are actively encouraged to do so. Most training offered relates to working with specific groups, including homeless people and young people leaving care. Volunteers' personal interests and learning goals are also taken into account when identifying suitable training opportunities.
