Description

Be Part of Culture, Books and Community – Volunteer in Rumia

As a volunteer at Janowo Library in Rumia, you will support the day-to-day work of the library, mainly assisting with book lending, organizing books and preparing library spaces. You will also take part in cultural events and workshops and help with photo and video documentation.

We encourage volunteers to bring their own ideas! If you have an idea for a workshop, cultural activity or event, you will have the opportunity to develop and implement it with the support of the library’s promotion team. You can also help prepare the library for authors’ meetings, concerts and exhibitions.

The volunteering offers a variety of tasks, from everyday library activities to creative projects. No previous library experience is required – we are looking for an open-minded, responsible and creative person who enjoys books, culture, working with people and being part of the local community.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

Volunteer will be provided with accommodation in a rented flat, in a double room shared with another volunteer, monthly pocket money and allowance for food, monthly budget for bus ticket in Gdynia.

Training during the activity

Volunteer is obliged to participate in training provided by National Agency (On-arrival training and Mid-term training) as well as trainings run and and organized by the organizations involved in the activity.


Participant profile

We are looking for an open-minded, responsible, and creative person who enjoys working with people, books, and the local community. Previous experience in a library or cultural institution is not required — curiosity, willingness to learn, and initiative are more important.

Minimum duration of the activity is 6 months
