🔷 Activity Details

Description

Two volunteers will work in a Primary School in Trzcianka, a town situated in the north-west Greater Poland with a population of about 17000 citizens. This beautiful town is located among lakes and forests, and has got an interesting history and unique pre-war architecture. The school's mission is to implement the slogan "One school, many opportunities", promoting values such as: access to a diverse program, social justice, respect for cultural diversity, mutual communication. Volunteers are invited to help to fulfill this mission. Volunteers will work with children and youth (7 to 14 years old). Their tasks will consist of assisting in different classes and school activities, preparation of materials and decoration, participation in various events of the local community. There will be also a space to share with the children volunteer’s personal interests and passions. During summer vacation the volunteers will coordinate international volunteering projects.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteers will share a fully-equipped flat and each will have his_her own bedroom. The school (and basically everything else) is within walking distance from the flat. In addition, the volunteers are provided with a bike. The volunteers receive a fixed amount of a monthly food allowance and pocket money.

Training during the activity

The volunteers participate in the on-arrival and mid-term training organized by the National Agency. More trainings will be offered within the Leading Organisation, Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat in Poznań.

Participant profile

We are looking for you if you are between 18-30 years old, you like working with children and you want to gain or improve some skills in non-formal education. You may have previous experience as an educator, or it may be something you'd like to pursue. The most important thing is that you are willing to learn, you’re patient, open-minded, sociable, creative and that you are a good team-player. The volunteer will assist in classes and other activities so a good level of English, basic Polish or motivation to learn are more than welcome.
