🔷 Activity Details

Description

Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat – the Polish branch of Service Civil International (SCI) – is looking for a long-term volunteer to join our team in Poznań!

As a volunteer, you will:

– Support the placement of volunteers for SCI workcamps abroad, including communication and guidance for participants.

– Organize and lead weekly Speaking Clubs for locals and foreigners, creating space for communication, connection, and cultural exchange.

– Design and facilitate creative workshops on peace, intercultural dialogue, and social inclusion – you're welcome to bring your own ideas!

– Co-coordinate a workcamp in Poland during summer with support from our team.

– Help with general office tasks such as logistics, communication, and event support.

You’ll gain experience in facilitation, non-formal education, and international volunteering — while being part of a mission-driven NGO working for peace and inclusion.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The volunteer will share a fully-equipped flat with two other participants and will have his/her own bedroom. The flat is located around 20 minutes by tram from the office. The volunteer receives a fixed amount of pocket money (6 euros/day) and a monthly support allowance.

A city transport card is also provided.

Training during the activity

Volunteer will participate in the on-arrival and mid-term training delivered by the National Agency.

In the first months of the project, we will organize training about SCI and peace education for all the volunteers, hosted by our partner organizations. It will be a good opportunity to get to know each other and find out more about Stowarzyszenie Jeden Świat and the SCI movement.

Placement officer will also be required to take part in the annual training organized by SCI in Switzerland in February 2026.

Participant profile

We are looking for a motivated individual who:

- Has a strong interest in peacebuilding, intercultural communication, and community engagement;

- Is proactive, creative, and enjoys facilitating group activities (e.g. speaking clubs, workshops);

- Is open-minded, flexible, and eager to work with diverse groups of people;

- Wants to gain hands-on experience in non-formal education and in the daily work of an NGO;

- Has good communication skills and a solid command of English (knowledge of Polish is helpful but not required);

- Feels comfortable speaking in front of a group and is open to taking initiative.
