Description
Would you like to get involved in a long term project, discover rural Finland´s beautiful nature, and enjoy small town vibes? Come to Kalajoki!
We are looking for 1 more motivated volunteer to get actively involved in our town´s international life! We have altogether three volunteers who is assigned to three different full-time positions that include different sets of tasks:
-the one volunteer we need would be working for the municipality of Kalajoki, interacting with the local youth. The main tasks include taking part in youth work and sports and cultural activities (12 months)
Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
Accommodation is at the Christian College campus located in the city center. You will have own individual bedrooms and bathroom in a flat where you will live together, and share a kitchen and common area. You will also have access to the College facilities (laundry room, living room, sauna, wifi, etc.) with the option to have breakfast and dinner at the campus cafeteria (lunch will be provided at the workplace). The volunteers will also have a bike for local traveling and will be driven or will carpool with others for out-of-town trips. You will also recieve monthly allowance and meal support
Training during the activity
The volunteer will join the arrival and mid-term training, organized by the National Agency. The volunteer will have the opportunity to join Finnish
language lessons as well and other hobby-groups in the town.
Participant profile
We are looking for 18+ years-old volunteers who like to work with children and youth / refugeess and have some experience in those fields. The working language is English. Finnish, Russian or Ukrainian skills are an advantage.
We are particularly looking for people who are outgoing, creative, motivated and interested in learning innovative youth work methods. We hope you are willing to spend a year in a rural area, where is more nature and peace than entertainment services ;)
