🔷 Activity Details

Description

CPMGA is an organisation with more than 40 years of experience in El Alto. Its mission is to promote the recognition, enjoyment and full exercise of women’s human rights through a feminist and de-patriarchal approach that challenges unequal power relations and hegemonic structures. CPMGA works through territorial action, democracy, collective participation and inclusive dialogue among women. Its activities include political and social advocacy and leadership development, placing women at the centre of processes to voice their demands, present proposals and improve their daily lives. The organisation supports women in contributing to municipal plans through dialogue with authorities, strengthening active citizenship and participation in local decision-making. It also accompanies accountability processes concerning the fulfilment of women’s rights and promotes their participation in spaces where they can contribute to municipal development.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

For safety and easy access to transport, food, healthcare, markets and supermarkets, accommodation will be located in a central and safe area of La Paz, either Sopocachi or Miraflores. Travel from these areas to CPMGA’s offices takes about one hour by public minibus or cable car. Volunteers may eat in restaurants or buy food at markets and supermarkets to prepare their own meals. The office also has a kitchen and dining area available to the volunteer, where they can interact with staff from other departments.
