The European Investment Fund is seeking to recruit for its Compliance and Non-Financial Risk Department at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a trainee.

The Compliance and Non-Financial Risk Department is responsible for safeguarding the EIF against regulatory, operational and reputational risks. The department provides compliance advisory support, performs independent reviews on applicable regulatory requirements and compliance risk assessments, supports anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing reviews, sanctions screening, sustainability risk and tax compliance assessments, and ensures adherence to regulatory and internal control requirements across EIF activities.

As part of the AI-Enabled Compliance Risk Assessment Pilot Program, the intern will contribute to the development of AI-assisted tools supporting the development of a modern compliance control ecosystem through automated assurance activities, data migration and compliance workflows using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and structured and unstructured data analysis.

Under the guidance of the Compliance Lead and the Data and AI Advisor, the intern shall:

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Use Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Power Automate to develop custom AI tools that streamline workflows, process documents and extract relevant data across various compliance domains

๐Ÿ”— Support the integration of manual compliance processes into core IT systems, exploring opportunities for using generative AI to map regulatory requirements and automate internal control testing

๐Ÿ”„ Implement workflow automations, carry out testing, manage document ingestion processes and set up effective human-in-the-loop validation cycles

๐Ÿ“ˆ Expected Outcomes

๐Ÿค– Delivery of fully functional AI agents or automated workflow solutions tailored to compliance needs

๐Ÿ“š Structured documentation including architecture, prompt engineering structures, data flows and validation logs

โœ… Qualifications

๐ŸŽ“ University degree, or ongoing studies, in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Business Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Finance, Law or similar

๐Ÿ“š Knowledge or coursework in machine learning, natural language processing, data processing, auditing, compliance or risk analysis

๐Ÿงฎ Strong analytical and numerical skills

โšก Experience or interest in prompt engineering, Copilot tools or workflow automation, with proficiency in Microsoft tools
