The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its Portfolio Management and Monitoring Directorate, Transaction Management Department, Funds and Co-Investments Division, EU Funds and Co-Investment Unit, at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an Associate Investment Officer for Funds and Co-Investments.

๐Ÿ“Š Purpose

As Associate Investment Officer you will be responsible for a portfolio of private equity and infrastructure fund investments during the disinvestment and liquidation phases. This involves client relationship management, including acting as representative of the Bank to advisory committees, monitoring, annual reviews and events resolution, and divestment of EIB positions, including disposal of fund sub-portfolios on the secondary markets. You will also be responsible for the review of valuations of your portfolio, as well as contributing to and coordinating periodic and ad-hoc reporting.

Reporting to the Head of Unit, and with the support of more senior Officers, you will cooperate regularly with colleagues within the Division and with other Divisions in Portfolio Management and Monitoring, as well as with internal counterparts across the Bank in other Directorates including Origination, Legal, Risk Management, Financial Control and Treasury. You will also maintain contact with external fund managers, co-investors and other transaction stakeholders, including the European Investment Fund.

๐Ÿค Maintain a close relationship with fund managers and co-investors in your portfolio with a view to anticipating portfolio evolution

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Actively represent the Bank in non-executive advisory committees and governance bodies of your portfolio

๐Ÿ“‹ Ensure sound and timely transaction management by formulating, recommending and processing internally event resolutions and divestment proposals, and by negotiating and implementing event resolutions and divestments with external counterparts and advisors, liaising with your manager and more senior colleagues as and when needed

๐Ÿ’ฑ Contribute to the coordination and execution of secondary sales of individual investments or sub-portfolios in line with the Bank's strategies and procedures

๐Ÿ“ˆ Independently conduct sound and timely reviews of your portfolio, covering performance reviews, valuations and scorings

โš™๏ธ Review and implement updates to financial monitoring policies and proactively formulate proposals to improve systems and procedures

๐Ÿ“Š Contribute to periodic reporting produced by the Division in respect of its portfolio

โœ… Qualifications

๐ŸŽ“ University degree, minimum an equivalent to a bachelor, preferably in Law, Finance or Economics

๐Ÿ’ผ At least 3 years of relevant professional experience in a similar role, preferably exposed to private equity and infrastructure funds or co-investments, on the investment, monitoring or advisory side

๐Ÿ“š Good understanding of international accounting standards and valuation methodologies

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Understanding of the EIB's mission, organisation and activities

๐Ÿ’ป Knowledge of standard computer tools, in particular proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Excellent knowledge of English, and a good command of French and German would be preferred

๐Ÿ“Œ As both English and French are official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both is a prerequisite for future career development, and any language clause in the contract must be fulfilled to be eligible for promotion, with the Bank offering appropriate training support
