🔧 About the Internship

The company is looking for a skilled, hands-on and pro-active Mechanical Design Intern to support the creation of the first version of its diagnostic product. In this assignment you will have a high degree of freedom to put your ideas, knowledge and experience into practice. You will integrate all system components into a device that future customers can use in the clinical domain. You are involved in the entire design process, from end-user research to 3D CAD design and realization, and eventually your prototype will be used in first pilot studies.

🛠️ What You Will Do

📐 Work with the engineering team to define the core design criteria of the next product

🔍 Analyze customer environments to translate user needs into technical requirements

🖨️ Make 3D CAD designs and get hands-on with rapid prototyping to test and bring concepts to life

🌬️ Investigate and integrate advanced sensor components, ensuring optimal gas-flow routing

🏥 Design the physical user interface and robust protective housing for use in a clinical setting

🌍 Identify and collaborate with global suppliers to select high-quality components and materials

👤 Who You Are

🎓 Master's degree in mechanical engineering, product design or a comparable program

⚡ Eager to work in a multi-disciplinary, fast-paced start-up environment

📡 Strong affinity with, and eagerness to learn about, integrated sensor systems for industry

💻 Extensive experience with CAD design and 3D printing, and proficiency in Autodesk Fusion is a plus

🔌 Familiarity with sensors, component integration and electronics housing design is a plus

🏭 Knowledge of DFM and rapid prototyping techniques is a plus

🗣️ Good communication and writing skills in English
