🇪🇸 Erasmus+ Youth Exchange in Spain 🎭 Human Rights Through Theatre, Art and Creative Expression 📸

Have you ever felt that Human Rights are something we talk about, but not always something we truly experience? Rights in Motion is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange where you explore Human Rights through art, creativity and group life. Instead of learning only from theory, the group uses theatre, storytelling, movement, music, visual arts, photography and video to understand what rights mean in real life.

During the project you work with topics such as equality, freedom of expression, participation, education, sexual and reproductive health, dignity and inclusion. But these are not approached as abstract ideas. The group moves them, acts them, questions them, shares them and turns them into something that can be felt, discussed and created together.

🎨 In a Nutshell

Rights in Motion is about learning by doing. Participants create, play, reflect and work together with young people from different countries. Each day the group explores a different Human Right through artistic activities, group challenges, discussions and creative documentation. You do not need to be an artist. You just need curiosity, openness and the willingness to take part.

🧑‍🏫 Group Leaders

Group leaders support their national groups before, during and after the exchange. They should have experience in youth work, group facilitation, artistic projects or intercultural learning. Their role is to help participants feel safe, included and involved throughout the whole process.

🛤️ The Project Journey

Rights in Motion is not only the week spent together in Madrid. It is a process: you prepare, you live the experience, and then you bring it back home.

🔹 Before: before arriving, each national group gets ready for the exchange. You receive practical information, meet your group, share expectations and prepare a small creative task connected to Human Rights in your community. The organisers also introduce the Rights Box, where each participant brings or chooses a symbolic object connected to a right, a struggle, a memory or a story from their own context.

🔹 During: during the exchange, the group explores Human Rights through non-formal education, artistic workshops, group challenges, intercultural moments and reflection spaces. The body, voice, images, stories and collective creation are used to understand how rights are lived in different countries and realities. The process leads to the Live Dramaturgy Game, a collective creation where participants transform the ideas explored during the week into scenes, actions and shared artistic material.

🔹 After: the project does not end when the group leaves Madrid. After returning home, each participant shares part of the experience with their local community. This can be a small workshop, a presentation, a creative action, a social media campaign or another activity connected to Human Rights. The idea is simple: what you live together should keep moving.

🏡 The Venue

During Rights in Motion, participants stay at Albergue Sierra Norte, located in the peaceful village of Manjirón, in the Sierra Norte region of Madrid. Surrounded by nature and away from the pace of the city, the venue offers the perfect environment for creativity, intercultural exchange and collective learning.

🥗 Vegetarian, vegan, religious and medical dietary requirements can be accommodated, so make sure to indicate any dietary needs in advance

Rights in Motion is based on participation, respect and shared responsibility. All participants are asked to contribute to creating a safe environment where everyone feels welcome, heard and included.

💶 What Is Covered

Rights in Motion is co-funded by the EU through the Erasmus+ programme. Accommodation, food and project activities are covered during the exchange.

✈️ Travel Reimbursement

Travel costs are reimbursed up to the maximum amount per participant established for each country and according to Erasmus+ rules. Green Travel applies when the journey is mainly done by sustainable means of transport, such as train, bus or car sharing.

🎫 Before buying any tickets, check your travel plan with your sending organisation

✅ Take part in the whole programme

⏰ Do not arrive late or leave early without previous agreement

🔥 Participate actively in the activities and group process

🧾 Keep all tickets, invoices, receipts and proof of travel

📄 Submit all required travel documents after the exchange

📝 Complete the Erasmus+ participant report if requested

📣 Contribute to the follow-up and dissemination of the project after returning home

💶 Reimbursement is only processed after all required documents and follow-up tasks have been completed

📜 Rules and Group Agreements

✋ Participants are expected to take part in the whole programme

⏰ Late arrivals or early departures are not allowed unless previously agreed with the coordination team

🚫 Alcohol and drugs are not allowed during the project

🛡️ Discrimination, hate speech, harassment or violent behaviour will not be tolerated

🩺 Participants are responsible for having valid health insurance during the exchange

📸 Photos and videos may be taken during the project for dissemination purposes, and consent will be requested

📜 Youthpass certificates are provided after the project

🏡 Please respect the venue, shared rooms, common spaces and group agreements

📝 The Application Form

By filling in the form, you confirm that you are interested in taking part in all phases of the project: preparation, youth exchange and follow-up and dissemination activities after returning home. The organisers ask you to answer carefully and honestly, since your answers help them understand your motivation, profile and suitability for the project. All personal data collected through the form is used only for the selection and organisation of this Erasmus+ project, in accordance with GDPR.

📌 This is not a touristic trip. It is a community-based learning experience that requires active participation, openness, responsibility and willingness to live and work with an international group.
