The Venue

๐ŸŒฒ The youth exchange takes place at the Scout centre "Home Luss Collini Sanem" in the peaceful, family-friendly village of Sanem in south-western Luxembourg, just 20 minutes from Luxembourg city. Surrounded by forests and rich biodiversity, Sanem offers a calm, inspiring setting where nature and tranquility support reflection, connection and personal growth.

Accommodation and Food

๐Ÿ›๏ธ The venue is a collective accommodation with 2 separate rooms for males and females, fully equipped with sleeping rooms, common rooms, bathrooms and a kitchen. Everything is shared, so there may be a lack of privacy, as the project aims for collective living that builds a close international community. If privacy is a vital aspect for you, please reconsider your participation.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Food is prepared and served by a chef, and help in the kitchen and with the dishes is welcome. Meals are simple homemade food, with basic vegetarian options available if you inform the organisers in advance (if your diet is more complex or requires special ingredients, please bring your own food). No alcoholic drinks are allowed at the venue, so please do not bring any alcohol.

๐ŸŒ On the first night there is an intercultural dinner where each country presents a table showcasing its culture through traditional food, snacks or drinks. Participants are encouraged to bring prepared dishes from home or cook on-site, as there is no dinner provided by the chef that evening.

Costs and Travel

๐Ÿ’ถ 100% of your travel costs are reimbursed within a limit for the round trip, on condition that you provide all bills, tickets and boarding passes, use the cheapest options (buses, trains, low-cost airlines) and confirm the ticket price with the organisers before booking. Simple accommodation and basic food are fully covered.

๐Ÿ’ธ There is an obligatory participation fee of 40 euros charged to every participant.

โœˆ๏ธ The venue is near Luxembourg city; the organisers encourage you to check Brussels South Charleroi, Frankfurt Hahn or Luxembourg airports first, and all tickets must be approved by the organisers before purchase. You can arrive a maximum of 2 days before the project starts or leave a maximum of 2 days later.

๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Each participant is highly recommended to arrange their own additional travel insurance for the full duration including travel days, and to carry a valid European Health Insurance Card.

Certificate

๐Ÿ… Each participant receives a YouthPass certificate of completed non-formal education, which you can add to your CV. At the start of the project, participants are divided into small reflection groups to discuss daily activities and learning, and these notes are used in a final workshop to complete the YouthPasses.
