Description

To apply send an EMAIL with your motivation and your profile (skills, interests...) to: volunteering@etudesetchantiers.org Please called the email by the title of the project (ANEC12ESC). Join a unique international workcamp and help build the school of tomorrow! Working alongside local residents and municipal staff, you will produce 4,000 eco-friendly clay bricks using traditional, low-impact techniques and locally sourced materials. Every brick you make will contribute to a sustainable school designed for future generations. Beyond the work, you'll experience intercultural exchange, shared community life, and meaningful teamwork while discovering the Grand Est region. No previous experience is needed—just curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to make a positive impact together.


Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

The group of volunteers will be accommodated in a permanent building, specifically, premises made available by the Jarville-la-Malgrange town hall, which also includes a kitchen and sanitary facilities. The premises span several floors. You will find on site : Single-sex double rooms Blankets provided Permanent toilets (on each floor) Permanent showers Indoor kitchen Dining/living area and relaxation space adjoining the kitchen Coin-operated laundromat nearby Pump for air mattresses


Training during the activity

Supported by trained municipal staff, you will learn every step of traditional clay brick making using natural, locally sourced materials. You will discover how to prepare the soil, mix it with water and natural fibres, fill and compact the moulds, demould the bricks, and leave them to dry naturally. No technical skills are required—everyone is welcome! This workcamp is a great opportunity to learn eco-construction techniques while contributing to a meaningful community project.

Participant profile

This workcamp is open to everyone (regardless of gender, age, nationality...) with the unfortunately exception of people with reduced mobility, as the work site is not accessible to wheelchairs. If you need support in your country to register and prepare your trip, it is possible, do not hesitate to ask us by email. The only condition to participate is your motivation!
