About OIM
The United Nations Secretary-General is responsible for the investment of the assets of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF). The Secretary-General has delegated this responsibility to the Representative of the Secretary-General for the investment of the assets of the UNJSPF (RSG). The RSG heads the Office of Investment Management (OIM), which manages an approximately USD 100+ billion multi-asset class, global investment portfolio, about 80% of which is actively managed in-house. The asset classes under management comprise global equities, fixed income, foreign exchange, private equity, real estate, infrastructure, timber and commodities. OIM's staff are all based in New York but come from over 42 countries.
This internship position is located in the Business Continuity Management Team within the Office of Investment Management of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. The Team manages Business Continuity Operations fund-wide. The incumbent reports to the Information Systems Officer.
The Role
The intern will support the Business Continuity function, focusing on the consolidation of the risk registers, corrective actions and plans, and coordinating business continuity tests and training in alignment with the ISO/IEC 22301 framework. This opportunity will not only support the Business Continuity operations but will also provide a valuable learning opportunity for the intern through practical exposure to Business Impact Analysis (BIA) activities, testing exercises, coordination processes, and related Business Continuity work.
What You'll Do
๐ก๏ธ Support the consolidation of the risk registers, corrective actions and plans for the Business Continuity function.
๐งช Coordinate business continuity tests and training in alignment with the ISO/IEC 22301 framework.

Who Can Apply
๐ Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher).
๐ Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's degree or equivalent).
Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience; however, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship is required, and proof of eligibility must be provided (an official certificate will be required at a later stage). As part of the application, candidates should reflect on what motivated them to apply for this internship, what interests them about Business Continuity Management, why they think organizations need business continuity plans, and any academic or professional experience they have related to business continuity.
Languages
Fluency in spoken and written English is required. Knowledge of an additional official UN language is an advantage.
The Details
๐ Location: New York, United States. The incumbent can work full time or part time, in person at OIM's office in New York or remotely, and can be adjusted based on the request of the successful candidate.
๐๏ธ Expected duration: 2 to 6 months.
๐ผ Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions. Interns who are not citizens or permanent residents of the country where the internship is undertaken may be required to obtain the appropriate visa and work or employment authorization.
