About the Internship
In this laboratory, students engage in theoretical studies that address practical scientific challenges. Specifically, you can participate in theoretical simulations and predictions of spectra spanning the entire electromagnetic spectrum. These simulations are grounded in quantum chemistry methodologies, commonly implemented in software packages such as Gaussian, Cfour, and CP2K, with visualisation of results using tools like VMD, Molden, and Multiwfn.

π Investigating chemical reactions of small molecules in Earth's atmosphere and on exoplanets, to elucidate physicochemical conditions in remote environments
π‘ Precisely determining the rovibrational properties of small molecules for highly resolved microwave spectroscopy, which often facilitates the discovery of novel species in interstellar environments
π¬ Conducting conformational analysis of drugs, enabling the identification of specific molecules, their conformers, and polymorphism within forensic materials, a vital contribution to forensic investigations
Who Can Apply
This internship is for students in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering who have completed at least two years of study.

Living and Lodging
π IAESTE provides accommodation in a student dormitory, where interns are housed in shared double rooms with same-sex roommates. If an intern prefers a single room, they are responsible for arranging alternative accommodation independently.
