About the Team

You will be part of the Programme Execution Management Section in the Directorate Digital Euro. The Directorate leads the digital euro project and is responsible for designing a digital euro that meets the needs of euro area citizens, complements cash, and supports Europe's monetary sovereignty in the digital age. Following the successful completion of the preparation phase, the project is now focused on advancing technical readiness, deepening market engagement, and supporting the legislative process.

The team is currently developing and maintaining the overall programme governance framework, coordinating planning across divisions to ensure alignment with strategic objectives, monitoring progress to support decision-making, and managing external vendors and sourcing strategies.

In your role as Finance Analyst, you will be part of the Project Management Office team of around ten staff members, responsible for establishing the foundations of the project and coordinating project activities. The team supports the secretariat of the Project Steering Group and the High Level Task Force, regularly monitors and reports on the project's progress, risks, and resource consumption, and updates the project plan in close cooperation with all other project teams.

Your Role

As a Finance Analyst you will:

๐Ÿ“ˆ Develop and maintain the analytical frameworks and tools used for financial analysis and compilation, ensuring high-quality data for planning and monitoring the project

๐Ÿ—‚๏ธ Contribute to the analytical work of the Section, including by maintaining the project plan and risk register and by preparing and automating project progress, financial, or headcount reports and dashboards for key stakeholders and high-level audiences

๐Ÿค Support other teams and divisions regarding the use of resources, ensuring alignment with the policies in place

๐Ÿ’ก Identify, propose, and implement process improvements and advance data analytics and digitalisation initiatives in the context of the digital euro project's goals and the Directorate's roadmap

๐Ÿ“‹ Support the secretariat of the Project Steering Group and High Level Task Force and help organise meetings with high-level officials

Essential Qualifications, Experience and Skills

๐ŸŽ“ A bachelor's degree or equivalent in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, mathematics, computer science, or another relevant field

๐Ÿ“Š At least two years of experience in budgeting and controlling or a similar oversight function, or in financial analysis and/or financial performance analysis in the financial services sector

๐Ÿ–ฅ๏ธ Professional experience in data analysis, compilation, and visualisation, both at a high level and in detail for policymakers via dashboards, reports, and presentations

๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ An advanced (C1) command of English and an intermediate (B1) command of at least one other official language of the EU, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
