Imagine waking up in Reykjavik, helping international travellers plan their day around glaciers and the Northern Lights, and learning how a small hospitality business truly works, not from a textbook, but from the guest inbox, the front desk, and the daily operations behind the scenes. This Erasmus+ funded internship at a unique Icelandic guesthouse is built for someone who wants real, hands-on experience in guest care, operations, marketing, and even AI-supported workflows.

About the Host

The host is a small, independent hospitality business in Iceland focused on creating comfortable, personal, and memorable stays for international guests. Their work blends guest communication, daily operations, property management, back-office tasks, and marketing, with a strong interest in building smarter systems and moving more of their processes toward automation and AI-supported workflows.

This is a place where you do not just observe. You take part in the daily work and see how guest experience, reviews, reservations, communication, and operations all connect.

About the Role

The main focus is guest communication and customer care. You will answer guest questions, support reservations, share local advice, help with breakfast-related tasks, and make sure the houses are prepared and maintained to a high standard.

It is also a practical, operational role. Depending on the day, you may help prepare guest areas, check rooms, coordinate housekeeping, and keep the house running smoothly. The host is clear about this: it is a hands-on hospitality role, not only an office position.

For the right person, there is real room to get involved in marketing, content creation, process improvement, and AI integration projects. Ideas and initiative are genuinely welcome, especially from someone curious about making a small business more efficient. It is an ideal fit for anyone who dreams of starting their own business one day and wants practical experience instead of theory alone.
