Eurojust, the European Union Agency for Criminal Justice Cooperation, is offering a traineeship in its EU and International Affairs Unit (EIA), based at its headquarters in The Hague. The EIA promotes Eurojust as a reliable partner in the Justice and Home Affairs area and enhances its role as a global partner in fostering EU security.


About the Unit

The unit provides organisational support to Eurojust's management structures and support and advice on cooperation with EU institutions, agencies and bodies (particularly the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU, Europol, EPPO, OLAF, AMLA and FRONTEX), non-EU countries and international organisations. It also includes the EuroMed Justice Project, the Western Balkans CrimJust Project and the Brussels Liaison Officer.

Traineeship Specification

๐Ÿ“ Support the preparation of briefing notes, position papers, speaking points and other materials on cooperation with EU partners, non-EU countries and international organisations

๐Ÿ“ฐ Follow relevant legislative and policy developments at Member State, EU institution and international levels

๐Ÿ“‹ Monitor the implementation of cooperation agreements, working arrangements and other instruments concluded by Eurojust and its partners

๐Ÿ“… Support the planning and delivery of various events and meetings, including venue and accommodation arrangements, venue preparations, interpretation, transportation, catering and contingency plans



Eligibility

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡บ Be a national of an EU Member State or an EU candidate country (exceptionally, nationals of third countries with a cooperation agreement or working arrangement with Eurojust may be accepted, depending on budget)

๐ŸŽ“ Be a recent university, master's or doctorate graduate, with the diploma obtained by the closing date

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Have very good English (minimum B2), Eurojust's working language

โ›” Not have received more than six weeks of any in-service training/internship, nor have worked or been employed in any capacity within an EU institution, body, office or agency

Selection Process

๐ŸŽฅ Only candidates invited for interviews are contacted; selected candidates have an online interview with the relevant unit and an HR representative

๐Ÿ“„ Before signing the agreement, trainees provide original documents evidencing identity, education, proof of sickness insurance and a certificate of good conduct (not older than six months)

๐Ÿชช Trainees must hold valid health insurance for the Netherlands throughout the traineeship (not covered by Eurojust); civil liability insurance is also advised
