🇵🇹 Erasmus+ Training Course in Portugal 🏛️ Preserving Local Heritage 🎨

Open call for youth workers from Greece, Italy, Poland, Portugal and Spain to join the Erasmus+ Training Course "Patrimonium – Preserving Local Heritage," taking place 2 to 10 September 2026 in Cinfães, Portugal. Thirty youth workers will learn to engage young people through non-formal education and digital tools to protect culture and foster active citizenship in rural areas.

About the Project

Patrimonium focuses on empowering youth workers and fostering active youth participation in cultural preservation, building a transnational support and learning network across the partner countries.

Objectives

🌍 Youth engagement: promote the active participation of young people in cultural preservation, so they feel like an essential part of these initiatives

🛠️ Youth worker capacity building: provide the skills needed to integrate local and European cultural heritage into daily activities

💻 Adaptation of digital tools: explore and adapt existing digital tools for a more dynamic, modern and accessible approach

🤝 Transnational cooperation: exchange experiences, best practices and knowledge among youth workers from different countries

📚 Non-formal education: facilitate youth participation through non-formal methods, increasing social inclusion and active involvement

Who Can Participate

🔞 Over 18 years old

📍 Residency in one of the partner countries

🇬🇧 Able to speak and understand English at a conversational level

❤️ Interested in the project topics

🚀 Motivated to participate actively throughout the whole project

The Programme

🛬 Day 1 (2 Sept): Arrivals and welcome dinner

🧭 Day 2: General introduction

🏛️ Day 3: Knowing my heritage and our heritage

💻 Day 4: How to innovate, digital tools for participation

🗺️ Day 5: Getting to know Cinfães' heritage

🔨 Day 6: Preservation heritage techniques (1)

🔧 Day 7: Preservation heritage techniques (2)

🎥 Day 8: Audiovisual content creation and celebration of local heritage

🛫 Day 9 (10 Sept): Departure

The project also includes one online preparation meeting beforehand and an online evaluation meeting after the course.

Accommodation & Food

🏠 Accommodation at Casa da Calçada in Oliveira do Douro (Cinfães), in rooms of 3 or 4 people

🍽️ Fully catered by chef Olga, with a mostly vegetarian/vegan menu and some fish and meat dishes; you'll also cook national dishes for the cultural evenings

Funding & Travel

💶 Funded through Erasmus+: 100% of accommodation, food and materials are covered

✈️ You pay for travel in advance; costs are reimbursed up to a distance-based limit, within two months after the project, to your sending organisation (full attendance required, and you cannot travel more than two days before or after the project)

🚆 Use the most economical public transport (2nd class trains, etc.); only public transport is reimbursed, no taxis

🌱 Green travel options are available for some countries (more than 50% of the trip in alternative transport)

Travel limits per participant: 🇵🇹 Portugal €28; 🇪🇸 Spain €309 (green €417); 🇵🇱 Poland €395; 🇮🇹 Italy €309; 🇬🇷 Greece €395

📍 Location: Oliveira do Douro, Cinfães, Portugal

🗓️ Dates: 2 to 10 September 2026 (arrival 2 Sept between 4 and 8 PM; departure 10 Sept until 10 AM)

👥 For: 30 youth workers aged 18+ from the partner countries

💶 Funding: Erasmus+ (accommodation, food and materials fully covered; travel reimbursed up to the limits above)

🪪 Bring your European Health Insurance Card; your own health and travel insurance is mandatory

🛂 Participants from the partner countries do not need a visa to enter Portugal
