The Foreign Languages Centre of the University of Ioannina (Greece) is looking for a Teaching Assistant in English, German or Italian for General, Academic or Specific Purposes — a chance to gain hands-on teaching experience in a university setting through the Erasmus+ scheme.
Who Can Apply
🎫 Interns are accepted only via the Erasmus+ mobility scheme — you must be eligible for an Erasmus+ grant from your university
🏛️ Before reaching out, contact the International Relations Office at your university to make sure you can be nominated for an Erasmus+ mobility grant for placement/traineeship
Your Duties
📝 Teaching assistance — lesson planning, enriching teaching materials, developing short language units and devising online language activities for the Moodle platform
🧑🏫 Independent teaching of classes (after guidance)
✅ Assessing students' oral and written work
🔬 Getting involved in research projects (optional)
🗂️ Relevant administrative work
What You'll Focus On
You'll be instructed particularly on how English, German and Italian lessons are delivered in tertiary education, with special emphasis on:
🎯 Teaching Foreign Languages for Specific Academic Purposes
📊 Assessment of academic language skills
🌍 Higher education internationalisation
📈 Language proficiency testing
🤖 The use of AI tools in language teaching and learning
🔄 Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)
There are also advanced opportunities for networking, intercultural communication, research projects and delving into academia.
When
📆 The internship is flexible in duration, between 3 and 9 months (minimum 3 months)
🚫 They do not accept interns in July and August
🗓️ Interns are accepted for both the fall and spring semesters of 2026–2027
Compensation
💶 No additional financial payment beyond the Erasmus+ grant you receive from your home institution
🍽️ Free meals (3 per day) at the Student Restaurant
