About Das LOT

The internship takes place at Das LOT, a transdisciplinary art and cultural production space in the Ankerbrotfabrik in Vienna. The venue operates as a hub for artistic research and cultural events, bringing together international artists, art mediators and curators in collaborative formats.

Internship Focus & Tasks

💡 Supporting the use of lighting, sound and video projection systems in live events

🎛️ Researching and experimenting with audiovisual systems such as TouchDesigner, Resolume, grandMA and LightShark lighting consoles

🔬 Supporting the development of LightLab, a format dedicated to experimentation in lighting, live media and performative technologies

🎟️ Participating in event production workflows — from planning and stage setup to technical coordination and audience engagement

🎭 Supporting concerts, performances, installations, exhibitions, artistic residencies and other public formats at Das LOT

🤝 Collaborating with artists, technicians and producers in preparing and realising live events

Candidate Profile

🎓 Particularly suited to students in Media Technology, Digital Media Production, Experimental Media, Media Art, Interactive Media, Live Event Technology or related fields

🎚️ Academic or practical experience in audiovisual or event technologies — lighting, video mapping, sound, XR tools or interactive media

🎭 An interest in the intersection of media art, live performance, technical production and cultural work

🌍 Motivation to collaborate in a dynamic, transdisciplinary environment

🗣️ Good English communication (German is an asset)

🗂️ Familiarity with standard digital tools like Google Docs, Sheets and Notion for coordination and documentation

🔬 Openness to experimental processes, artistic research and hands-on technical work
