As a Business Development Intern at Polpo, you'll work with the Belgium and EU sales team to identify new business opportunities and strengthen Polpo's presence in the GovTech and political intelligencesector.
About the Role
You'll be part of a fast-growing AI-powered SaaS company, helping organisations make sense of complex EU and national developments through technology and insight. The role suits a mature, focused individual with a keen eye for detail, strong planning skills and creative thinking โ someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment but is also comfortable working independently. Throughout the internship you'll receive regular coaching and feedback, work alongside experienced colleagues, and gain hands-on exposure to the full sales cycle โ from research and prospecting to account support and market analysis.
Key Responsibilities
๐ Researching and identifying potential clients across Belgium and the EU through prospecting, social media and lead generation tools for the SaaS sales and political intelligence platform
๐ค Developing a network of new contacts among decision-makers and influencers
๐บ๏ธ Contributing to market mapping, competition analysis and case study development to support sales strategy
๐ Supporting the sales team with day-to-day client engagement, CRM updates and proposal preparation
๐ฅ Collaborating with colleagues across teams to ensure great client experiences and that market needs are met
๐ฃ Helping communicate and promote the value of Polpo's AI-powered platform to prospects and clients
What They're Looking For
๐ If applying as part of your studies, you should remain in your studies for the whole internship; if applying after, at least a Bachelor's or (preferably) Master's degree โ ideally in Business, Management, Marketing, Communications, Political Science, Economics or Law (3rd year or above)
โ๏ธ Excellent writing skills in English and another European language
๐๏ธ Some experience or interest in the Legal, Public Affairs, Public Policy, Communications/PR, Media, Information or Research space is an advantage
๐ผ A willingness to work in a challenging, commercially driven sales environment
๐ฅ๏ธ A good command of the Microsoft Office suite
๐ Intellectual curiosity and a detail-oriented mind
๐ฒ Experience of social media and digital marketing is an asset
