Do you want to be part of a project that promotes gender equality and defends the rights of children and adolescents? Join the "IdeM: Equality and Women's Rights in Latin America" project as an ESC volunteer with Movimiento por la Paz and El Abrojo in Montevideo, Uruguay!
This is a 6-month opportunity to contribute to social transformation through hands-on work supporting children and youth โ within a pacifist, feminist, and antiracist organisation that has been fighting for a more just world for over 40 years.

๐ฏ About the Project
You'll collaborate with El Abrojo, supporting projects across the country that promote full personal development and social inclusion of children and adolescents and guarantee their rights. You'll also be part of Movimiento por la Paz (MPDL), a pacifist, feminist, and antiracist organisation.
Activities will mainly take place in Montevideo, with possible trips to nearby communities where projects are implemented. You'll have a 30โ40 hour week, adjusted to the organisation's needs, with continuous support and training.

๐ Participant Profile
โ 18 to 35 years old
โ Residing in an eligible country (EU Member States, North Macedonia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Tรผrkiye)
โ Motivated by social transformation and gender equality
โ Committed to pacifist, feminist, and antiracist values
โ Interest in project management with children and a gender focus
โ Empathy, sensitivity, patience, commitment, flexibility, and resilience
โ Completed the mandatory Humanitarian Aid Volunteering training
โ Have not previously participated in Humanitarian Aid Volunteering programmes
โ ๏ธ Total participation across all EU volunteering programmes cannot exceed 12 months.
๐ Priority for people who have faced barriers accessing services, health, employment, education, or who live in peripheral/remote areas. Previous experience in social intervention and an interest in gender equality is valued.
๐ Accommodation, Food & Transport
๐๏ธ Accommodation in a safe area of Montevideo โ close to supermarkets, restaurants, hospitals, and public transport, with all basic services (water, electricity, gas, internet) and individual room
โ๏ธ Flights, visa, and insurance covered by the project (Henner medical insurance)
๐ถ Financial allowance to cover personal expenses, food, and local transport
๐ Travel costs from your place of residence covered
๐ Training
๐ Pre-departure training on MPDL, humanitarian aid, security, mentoring, and practical matters (visa, insurance, etc.)
๐ค On-arrival training about the hosting organisation, your tasks, and role
๐ Spaces for intercultural exchange with other volunteers and training to strengthen transversal skills
๐ Access to EU training tools: OLS, GOT, and SALTO
