DESCRIPTION

Tone Okrogar Primary School has around 500 students aged 6–15 and two branch schools. The school values cultural diversity and promotes tolerance, cooperation, and respect for different cultures. It is the oldest school in the municipality. Volunteer's tasks: supporting and observing lessons, preparing and leading activities with teachers, designing didactic and learning materials, creating a cultural corner to present the volunteer’s culture, language, and traditions through non-formal learning, assisting teachers during extended stay and additional professional support, promoting the ESC programme and non-formal education, implementing a personal project and contributing own ideas, participating in the MC ZOS daily centre (a neutral and safe space where young people can meet, socialize, and spend their free time).

ACCOMMODATION, FOOD AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

ACCOMMODATION: Apartment in a youth centre in Zagorje, 3 single bedrooms, the kitchen and bathroom is shared with other international volunteers, within walking distance to activity venues (20 min to school). FOOD, TRANSPORT AND OTHER ARRANGEMENTS: - travel costs coverred by the regulations of programme ESC - volunteer's pocket money 5€/day, paid on monthly basis - food costs in amount of 196 €/month, money is transferred to the volunteer's bank account WORKING OBLIGATIONS: - 35 working hours/week, 2 days off/week, 2 days holidays/month DURATION: 330 days/volunteer

PARTICIPANT PROFILE

We are looking for one volunteer (fe_male) for the placement at a local elementary school (3 days/week) and in the youth centre (2 days/week). We are looking for motivated volunteers that have a will for self-growth and contribution to the community. S_he can have a basic knowledge of English.
