What if the participants were the facilitators? This youth exchange turns that question into the entire programme. Young people from five countries design and lead their own sessions on sustainability — while also learning how Erasmus+ actually works from the inside.
Xeracion Valencia is organising Make Your Own — an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange taking place in Alicante, Spain, from 2 to 13 July 2026. The project brings together 28 participants aged 18 to 30 from Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Portugal, and Spain — with group leaders of any age welcome.

What Is This Project About?
The project is built on a straightforward but powerful insight: sessions where participants create and facilitate their own activities are the most enriching — and young people show real motivation when they learn how youth exchanges are actually written. Make Your Own puts both of those observations into action across ten days of facilitation, learning, and intercultural living.
Objectives
🎓 Empower participants to create and facilitate their own non-formal education sessions
🚀 Promote youth participation and entrepreneurial spirit by providing tools to start working with the Erasmus+ Youth programme
🌍 Facilitate national and international mobility of youth through European programmes — Erasmus+, ESC, and Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs
Programme — Day by Day
📅 Day 1: Arrivals — meeting point for dinner together
📅 Day 2: Welcome, presentations, ice-breakers, and expectations
📅 Day 3: Team building — selecting topics, forming groups, sharing first ideas
📅 Day 4: Preparation of team sessions for days 5, 6, 8, and 9
📅 Days 5, 6, 8, 9: Participant-led sessions — fully organised and facilitated by the participant teams
📅 Day 7: Beach day, sports, games, and sightseeing
📅 Day 10: Erasmus+ in depth — planning your own projects
📅 Day 11: Presenting projects, next steps, and final evaluation
📅 Day 12: Departures
⚠️ Days 5, 6, 8, and 9 will be fully organised and facilitated by participants. You will have full support and preparation time — but please take this into consideration before applying.
Who Should Apply?
🔹 Age: 18 to 30 years old (group leaders: no age limit)
🔹 Eager to organise and facilitate their own activities with a group
🔹 Looking to learn facilitation by doing it — little or no prior experience is fine
🔹 Has experience or interest in sustainability in all its aspects
🔹 Open-minded, adaptable, and ready to step out of their comfort zone
🔹 Enjoys meeting people from other countries in intercultural settings
⭐ Priority given to participants with fewer opportunities and those working with youth with fewer opportunities.
Accommodation & Practical Details
🏨 Accommodation at Albergue Juvenil La Florida in Alicante — double and triple rooms
🌡️ Mediterranean climate — July temperatures from 20°C to 40°C with high humidity. Be ready for heat.
🏖️ Swimsuit recommended for the beach day
🧴 Bring towel and toiletries — no need to bring bed sheets or sleeping bags
💧 Bring your own reusable water bottle or cup
Travel & Reimbursement
✈️ 100% of travel costs reimbursed up to the maximum Erasmus+ distance amounts (flights, trains, buses, carpooling — no taxis):
📍 Up to 99 km: €56 — bus or train only
📍 100–499 km: €285 — bus or train only
📍 500–1999 km: €309
📍 2000–2999 km: €395

⚠️ Reimbursement processed up to one month after the end of the activity, upon receipt of all required documents.
