Fundaciรณn Alonso Quijano is a private nonprofit in Spain dedicated to human development through culture, education, and the promotion of reading โ and they're looking for 2 ESC volunteers to join their team for a placement that is as quietly meaningful as the books they champion.

Fundaciรณn Alonso Quijano is an independent nonprofit institution focused on cultural and educational initiatives โ with a particular emphasis on promoting reading across all ages and contexts. From hospital patients to immigrants to children, their programmes bring books to people who need them most.
๐ฏ The Role
Volunteers will be active across several of the Foundation's programmes, constantly accompanied by a staff member who provides guidance and support throughout.
๐ What You'll Do
๐ Support and collaborate in the "Spanish for Immigrants" programme
๐ฅ Participate in the Mother and Child Hospital project โ "Get Better with Books"
๐ฆ Assist in the "Books for the World" project โ donating books to communities globally
๐ Help organise and attend events โ Reading Day, Book Day, university seminars, and online events
๐ก Have the opportunity to suggest your own activities
๐ฑ Actively assist with the Foundation's social media and communication efforts
๐ What the Project Provides
๐ A furnished room in a shared flat with other young people โ electricity, water, and gas covered. Internet is not covered by the organisation
๐ณ โฌ150 per month for food โ volunteers cook their own meals in the flat
๐ถ โฌ180 per month pocket money (Spanish National Agency rate)
๐ฒ๐ Choice of bike or bus card for local transport if needed
๐ฃ๏ธ Spanish classes โ 1h30 once or twice per week, given by a Spanish volunteer at the Foundation
๐ Ongoing training and guidance from coordinators in both the hospital and the Foundation
๐ค Who Should Apply
Fundaciรณn Alonso Quijano is looking for volunteers aged 18โ30 who:
๐ Are interested in culture and books
๐ง Have working abilities with immigrants and children
๐ค Have teamwork skills and the ability to connect with people
๐ฃ๏ธ Have a minimum A2 level of Spanish โ essential for the role
