๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ช ESC Volunteering in Estonia ๐Ÿง’ Kindergarten Volunteer ๐ŸŒ Children with Special Needs, Viljandi ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ช

A kindergarten in Viljandi, Estonia is looking for an individual ESC volunteer to support teachers and children across its 11 groups, including three groups specifically for children with learning disabilities and special needs. Mรคnnimรคe Kindergarten serves around 200 children aged 2โ€“7 and is seeking a motivated, creative, and patient volunteer who genuinely loves working with young children. You will assist with daily indoor and outdoor activities, bring your own cultural background into the classroom, and become part of a warm and developing educational community. Rolling applications โ€” no deadline.

๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Viljandi is one of Estonia's most charming and culturally vibrant towns, famous for its medieval castle ruins, the Viljandi Folk Music Festival โ€” one of the largest folk music events in Northern Europe โ€” and its stunning lakeside setting surrounded by ancient forests. Despite its small size, it has a remarkably lively arts and community scene, making it a genuinely wonderful place to spend a year as a volunteer.

What Will You Do?

๐Ÿง’ Daily Classroom Support: Assist teachers during games, lessons, and activities with children aged 2โ€“7 โ€” including in groups for children with learning disabilities and special needs.
๐ŸŽจ Creative Activities: Use your own imagination to design and lead creative activities, crafts, games, and educational materials for the children โ€” your personal creativity is actively encouraged.
๐Ÿƒ Sports & Outdoor Activities: Participate in walks, outdoor play, and physical education activities alongside the teaching team and children throughout the school year.
๐ŸŽญ Cultural Sharing: Introduce your own culture, traditions, songs, and celebrations to the children and staff โ€” a valued and central part of the volunteer's contribution to the kindergarten community.
๐ŸŽต Events & Celebrations: Take part in the kindergarten's musical performances, theatre events, sports days, and traditional seasonal celebrations throughout the year.
๐Ÿ“‹ Lesson Preparation: Help prepare materials, props, and resources for activities and lessons, working alongside the teaching staff as a genuine team member.
๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Estonia is consistently ranked as one of the world's most digitally advanced societies โ€” it was the first country to introduce internet voting in national elections and is the birthplace of Skype. Yet despite its tech-forward reputation, Estonia also has one of Europe's most nature-connected cultures, with over 50% of the country covered by forest and a deep tradition of spending time outdoors in all seasons โ€” something volunteers in Viljandi will experience firsthand.
