What Does the Scholarship Cover?

๐ŸŽ“ Tuition Fee: Scholars pay only the lowest rate of the yearly tuition fee applicable to students receiving a Flemish Government study grant โ€” set at โ‚ฌ136.5 for the 2025โ€“26 academic year, representing a near-full tuition waiver.
๐Ÿฅ Health Insurance: Comprehensive health insurance is included for the duration of the scholarship.
๐Ÿ’ผ Right to Work: International students on this scholarship are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week alongside their studies.

Eligibility & Requirements

๐ŸŒ Nationality: Open to students of all nationalities. Students currently enrolled at Flemish higher education institutions are not eligible.
๐ŸŽ“ Education: Must have completed a Bachelor's degree at an institution outside Belgium. All new international students admitted to any Master's programme (including advanced masters) at Ghent University for 2026โ€“27 are eligible to be considered.
๐Ÿ“Š Academic Excellence: A GPA of at least 3.5 out of 4.0 and a strong academic record are required. The scholarship is designed for academically outstanding candidates.

How to Apply

1๏ธโƒฃ Apply for a Master's Programme: Submit your application for an English-taught Master's degree programme at Ghent University via the official application portal before 1 April 2026.
2๏ธโƒฃ Be Nominated: Once your admission application is reviewed, the Master's programme coordinator may nominate you โ€” alongside up to one other candidate โ€” to the International Relations Office for scholarship consideration.
3๏ธโƒฃ Shortlist Notification: Shortlisted students are contacted by the university's International Office by mid-April with instructions to complete their online Master Mind scholarship application via the Mobility Online tool.
4๏ธโƒฃ Final Decision: The International Relations Office submits a shortlist of up to 20 students to the Flemish Government, who makes the final scholarship decision. Results are announced in June 2026.
