๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท Erasmus+ Training Course in France ๐ŸŒฟ SPRING ๐Ÿ’ง Biodiversity, Water & Urban Nature, Amiens ๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

What happens when biodiversity observation, water access innovation, and festival culture collide? SPRING โ€” Study of metropolitan Park Resources, Innovation for Nature and Green spaces โ€” is a 9-day Erasmus+ training course in Amiens, France, bringing together youth workers and environmental practitioners to explore urban nature, sustainable water solutions, and non-formal education. Set around the Parc Saint-Pierre and connected to the Minuit avant la Nuit festival, this is a hands-on, creative, and deeply ecological learning experience for anyone working with young people and the environment.

๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Amiens is the capital of the Somme department in northern France and home to one of Europe's finest Gothic cathedrals โ€” the Cathรฉdrale Notre-Dame d'Amiens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site taller than Notre-Dame de Paris. The city is also threaded by an extraordinary network of floating gardens on the Somme river, known as the Hortillonnages โ€” a living wetland landscape cultivated since the Middle Ages and one of France's most unique urban ecosystems.

What Will You Do?

๐Ÿ”ฌ Observe and monitor urban ecosystems through field observations and the creation of a biodiversity inventory at Parc Saint-Pierre
๐Ÿ’ง Explore sustainable and accessible water solutions โ€” design and experiment with temporary water fountains adapted to festival contexts
๐ŸŽถ Discover the backstage of the Minuit avant la Nuit festival and experience how cultural events can become platforms for ecological action
๐Ÿ“š Create educational supports that translate ecological knowledge into meaningful activities for young people
๐Ÿค Explore how concrete environmental actions can inspire youth participation, volunteering, and community engagement
๐ŸŒ Reflect on the connections between ecology, citizenship, public spaces, and European environmental values and policies
๐ŸŽจ Combine ecological fieldwork with artistic and social dynamics to develop innovative approaches to environmental youth work
๐ŸŒ Did You Know? Urban biodiversity is one of the fastest-growing fields in ecology โ€” cities can host surprising concentrations of plant and animal species when green spaces are managed well. Research shows that young people who engage with urban nature through participatory science and hands-on activities develop stronger environmental identities and are more likely to take action on climate and biodiversity issues in their communities.

๐ŸŽ‚ Youth workers aged 18 and above residing in one of the eligible partner countries
๐ŸŒฟ Working in or connected to youth work, environmental education, cultural activities, or community engagement
