๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Paid Internship in the USA ๐Ÿ›๏ธ Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy ๐ŸŒ CSIS Executive Education, Washington D.C. ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ
Are you passionate about leadership development, foreign policy, and international relations โ€” and looking for a paid, full-time internship in Washington D.C. at one of the world's most respected strategic policy institutions? The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is looking for a motivated intern to support the Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy (AILA) and the Executive Education Program โ€” delivering leadership training, ethics workshops, foreign policy seminars, and crisis simulations for global leaders, government officials, and university groups. The role covers event management, social media content, programme operations, outreach, market research, and more. Paid hourly. Starting May 2026. Deadline: 22 March 2026.
๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Did You Know? The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) was founded in 1962 โ€” the same year as the Cuban Missile Crisis โ€” and has since grown into one of the largest and most influential bipartisan policy research organisations in the world. With over 120 analysts working on global security, economic policy, and international relations, it is consistently ranked among the top think tanks globally and has directly shaped US foreign policy across decades. An internship here places you inside one of Washington D.C.'s most consequential policy environments.

What Will You Do?

๐ŸŽชProvide event management support for AILA and Executive Education programming โ€” helping design, coordinate, and deliver leadership seminars, crisis simulations, and skill-building workshops for global leaders and government officials
๐Ÿ“ฑCreate content for AILA and Executive Education's social media accounts โ€” translating programme activity into engaging, professional digital communications
๐Ÿ“ŠCompile and manage data on CSIS programming โ€” tracking activity, participants, and outcomes to support programme evaluation and reporting
๐Ÿ—‚๏ธAssist with programme operations and administration โ€” supporting the smooth day-to-day running of a fast-paced executive education environment
๐Ÿ“งOrganise outreach efforts โ€” including writing newsletters and other communication materials for programme audiences
๐Ÿ”Survey market competition and prospective donors โ€” contributing to the programme's strategic positioning and funding development
๐Ÿ“šConduct background research on programming, learning and development best practices, and marketing strategies โ€” feeding directly into programme design and delivery
๐Ÿ’ก Did You Know? The Abshire-Inamori Leadership Academy takes its name from two remarkable figures: David Abshire โ€” a co-founder of CSIS and former US Ambassador to NATO โ€” and Kazuo Inamori, the legendary Japanese entrepreneur and philosopher who built Kyocera and KDDI from nothing and later rescued Japan Airlines from bankruptcy. Inamori's philosophy of ethical leadership and servant management became central to AILA's mission, making it one of the few leadership programmes in the US foreign policy world that explicitly combines strategic thinking with moral philosophy.
