🌍 About the Project
This ESC Humanitarian Aid Volunteering project takes place in Alvorada (Porto Alegre), Brazil 🇧🇷 within the Umbúntu social project, a community and cultural space located in a disadvantaged district.
The initiative combines humanitarian engagement, intercultural learning and environmentally sustainable practices. The project aims to strengthen community resilience, promote climate awareness and encourage green alternatives through hands-on action and non-formal education.
🤝 What You Will Do
🎨 Participate in and lead workshops on handicrafts, capoeira, percussion and language teaching
🌱 Support edible plant processing and eco-friendly community activities
🌾 Engage in farming, permaculture gardening and sustainable practices
🛠️ Contribute to construction and manual project activities
🌍 Raise awareness about climate change and green alternatives
🤝 Foster intercultural dialogue through non-formal education methods

A total of 26 weeks during the period 01/05/2026 to 30/09/2026

🏠 Accommodation, Food and Financial Support
🏡 Accommodation with local host families
🚿 Hot and cold water, Wi-Fi, washing machine, private and shared spaces
🍽️ Breakfast and dinner at home on weekdays

🍴 Full meals at home on weekends
🚌 Transport arranged via local bus or Uber
💶 Monthly pocket money: 250€
