🌍 Project Overview
🌊 This ESC Volunteering Team takes place in Arteara, Gran Canaria, in a rural mountain area surrounded by ocean views, focusing on environmental restoration, biodiversity recovery and creative reuse of waste.
Volunteers actively contribute to:
🌱 Clean-ups in semi-natural areas
🌿 Removal of invasive species
🌾 Soil improvement and planting native species
🥕 Permaculture-based food growing
♻️ “Waste to Wisdom” upcycling activities – transforming collected materials into art and functional objects
The project promotes circular economy awareness, sustainable lifestyles and low-impact living. Participants live and work in a simple rural setting, sharing daily responsibilities, preparing plant-based meals and contributing to community life.
Learning is based on non-formal education methods, reflection and teamwork, and is documented through Youthpass.
Due to high application numbers, only selected participants will be contacted. If you do not receive a reply by 18 March, you have not been selected.

The location is remote and requires flexibility, independence and readiness for simple living.

✔️ Aged 20–30
✔️ Motivated and connected to nature
✔️ Ready to live and work in a remote natural environment
✔️ Willing to share accommodation and community responsibilities
✔️ Interested in climate action, biodiversity restoration and permaculture
✔️ Open to plant-based, low-impact and slow-living lifestyle
Each group consists of maximum 8 volunteers, with a maximum of 2 participants per country per group.
The project is open to young people with fewer opportunities. Motivation and cooperation are more important than previous experience.
