An ESC individual volunteering opportunity is open in Reykjavik, Iceland, within a long-standing environmental volunteer organisation dedicated to nature conservation, climate awareness, intercultural understanding and peace-building through voluntary service.
Climate change represents a serious threat to nature, wildlife and humanity. Rising global temperatures are leading to melting glaciers, increasing sea levels, forest fires and environmental degradation. Pollution, including waste in oceans, beaches and rivers, further intensifies the ecological crisis. Active engagement in environmental protection is therefore essential to counteract the impact of climate change.
The host organisation in Iceland was founded in 2005 as a non-governmental, non-profit volunteer organisation with an international focus. Its core mission is to promote environmental protection, raise ecological awareness, strengthen intercultural understanding and contribute to peace through voluntary work in social, cultural and ecological projects across Iceland. The project forms part of a broader series of environmental and solidarity camps organised in cooperation with various international partners.
