Thisย European Solidarity Corps (ESC) Individual Volunteeringย opportunity takes place inย Pรคlkรคne, Finland ๐ซ๐ฎย and focuses onย youth work, community engagement, intercultural learning, and nature-based activities. Volunteers contribute to local youth services, cultural and library activities, school youth work, and outdoor events, while experiencing everyday life in a Finnish community.
๐ฏ Volunteering Activities
Volunteers will be involved in a variety of community-oriented tasks, including:
๐งโ๐คโ๐ง Supporting youth centres and school youth work activities
๐ Assisting library and cultural services for different age groups
๐ Helping organise youth events and international-themed evenings
๐ฒ Supporting outdoor and nature-based activities such as excursions and community events
๐ถ Assisting early childhood education during trips and larger outdoor events
๐ค Working closely with local staff and participating in community life in Pรคlkรคne
๐ก Accommodation, Food & Transport
๐ Furnished apartment in the centre of Pรคlkรคne
๐ฝ๏ธ Meals provided at schools and the youth centre
๐ Groceries for home cooking covered via the municipality
๐ Transport arranged by youth services for activities outside the town centre
๐ Training & Support During the Activity
๐ค Continuous support from a local supervisor and mentor
๐ง Mentoring focused on wellbeing, learning, and leisure time
๐ Opportunities to meet other international volunteers in nearby cities
๐ On-arrival training included as part of the volunteering experience
๐ค Participant Profile
๐ Aged 18โ30
๐ Positive, open-minded, and responsible
๐ง Enjoys working with children and young people
๐ค Able to work independently and as part of a team
๐ฒ Comfortable with outdoor activities in different weather conditions
๐ Background in youth work, education, culture, or event organisation is an advantage but not required
๐ฃ๏ธ Basic English is sufficient; Finnish is not required (learning encouraged and supported)
