This European Solidarity Corps individual volunteering opportunity is hosted by Vitadacani – Associazione a tutela dei diritti animali, coordinated by NO BORDERS, and based in Arese, Italy. The project focuses on animal welfare, animal rights advocacy, and daily care of rescued dogs and farm animals, offering a fully immersive experience for volunteers who want to dedicate themselves to protecting animals and promoting ethical lifestyles.
🎯 Main Activities
🐕 Daily care of dogs: feeding, walking, cleaning & wellbeing support
🧹 Cleaning sleeping areas, shelter spaces & outdoor territory
🦴 Getting to know each animal’s personality and special needs
📣 Supporting animal rights events & awareness activities
📱 Helping with social media communication & website content
🐄 Supporting rescued farm animals in Magnago
🏠 Accommodation, Food & Financial Support
🏡 Shared apartment (double room) for 4 volunteers
💶 Pocket money: 6 EUR per day
🍽️ Food allowance: 110 EUR per month + lunch on working days
🥗 Vegan diet required while working in the shelter
🚶 Small-town living – shelter and accommodation located about 1 hour from a big city
🎓 Training & Support
🎓 On-Arrival Training organised by the National Agency
🐾 Task-specific training on animal care, hygiene & safety
📱 Guidance for communication and outreach tasks
👤 Participant Profile
❤️ Strong love for animals, especially dogs
🐶 Experience with animals (shelters, pet-sitting, veterinary/biology background preferred)
💪 Ready for physical work, early mornings & outdoor tasks
🏡 Willing to live immersed in shelter life and animal care
🌱 Open to the organisation’s values (antispeciesism & veganism during activities)
📱 Basic understanding of Instagram/TikTok is a plus
🗣️ Motivated to learn Italian
📄 CV and motivation letter must be in English
