🇧🇴 ESC Volunteering in Bolivia 💰 Fundraising Assistant for Women's Rights 👩

Join CPMGA, an organization with over 40 years of experience promoting women’s rights and empowerment in El Alto, Bolivia. Through a feminist approach, CPMGA works to address gender-based violence, promote sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), strengthen citizen participation, and support women’s economic empowerment through training and business incubation. The volunteer will support CPMGA’s fundraising and project development efforts for 9 months by identifying funding opportunities, assisting in the preparation of project proposals and concept notes, and contributing to the development of preliminary budgets and donor documentation. The role also includes collecting and systematizing information from women’s and community organizations, participating in meetings with key stakeholders, supporting project design and proposal-writing training activities, and helping develop communication materials to increase the visibility of projects and funding opportunities.

Accommodation, food and transport arrangements

For safety reasons the accommodation will be located in a safe and central area of La Paz.Travel from these neighborhoods to CPMGA’s offices takes approximately one hour and can be made by public minibus or by cable car (teleférico). Volunteers may choose to eat at local restaurants or purchase groceries from nearby markets and supermarkets to prepare their own meals. In addition, the CPMGA office has a kitchen and dining area available for volunteers, providing a space to have meals and interact with staff from different departments of the organization.

Training during the activity

- Guidance from the Fundraising and Project Development Officer, under the coordination of the Executive Director.

- Learning about the practical application of gender and feminist approaches in El Alto and nearby municipalities.

- Participation in fundraising training, identifying funding opportunities, drafting proposals and budgets, and designing context-based fundraising strategies.

- Understanding the importance of local, national and international partnerships.

- Exchange of knowledge, customs and experiences with women and young people from El Alto and rural Bolivia.

Participant profile

We are looking for a volunteer with a background in Business Administration, Commercial Engineering, Project Management, International Development, or a related field. Experience working with women’s organizations and supporting fundraising and resource mobilization processes is highly desirable. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of project design and proposal writing, as well as an interest in contributing to women’s rights and empowerment initiatives.
