Youth Works Hub operates youthworkshub.org. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them on youthworkshub.org, and what choices you have regarding their use.
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to site owners about how visitors use their site.
Youth Works Hub sets three cookies of its own, all of them essential, and only once you sign in. If you are just reading the site, we set none of our own. Google also sets third-party cookies for advertising and analytics, and those are described in the next section.
🔹 ywh_session — keeps you signed in. It holds a random value that means nothing outside our own database, and it is removed when you sign out.
🔹 ywh_chrome — records only whether your account is an ordinary member or an administrator, so the page can be laid out correctly before it is drawn. It carries nothing that could sign you in.
🔹 ywh_dev — lets us recognise a device you have used before, so we can warn you by email when your account is used somewhere new.
Advertising is what pays for this site, and we measure which pages people find useful. Both are Google services, and both may set third-party cookies on your device:
🔹 Google AdSense — chooses the ads you see, limits how often the same ad is repeated, and measures them.
🔹 Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-N5D3K652ZW) — records which pages are opened and how visitors reach the site.
Analytics storage is switched off by default and is only enabled if you agree to it. Where consent is required — the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — you are asked through Google's consent message before advertising or analytics cookies are used, and you can change your answer at any time from that message.
An earlier version of this page said that we used no advertising or analytics cookies and that there was therefore nothing to consent to. That was not correct: the site is funded by Google advertising, and Google Analytics was reconnected in September 2026. Both are described above.
Alongside Google Analytics we keep a measurement of our own that uses no cookies at all. We do want to know which opportunities people open and what they search for, because that is what tells us what to publish next. We record only three things — search terms, which posts were opened, and which category tab was chosen — and we group them by a random identifier that lives only in your browser tab. It is not a cookie, it is discarded when you close the tab, and it does not follow you between visits, between devices, or to any other website. We do not store your IP address, your browser's user agent, or the page you came from alongside it, and the measurements are deleted after 90 days.
Our Privacy Policy describes this in full.
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings at any time. Because our own cookies are the ones that keep you signed in, blocking or deleting them will sign you out. Blocking third-party cookies affects only advertising and analytics — the site keeps working, and you may see less relevant ads.
Most browsers allow you to:
🔹 View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
🔹 Block third-party cookies
🔹 Block cookies from specific sites
🔹 Block all cookies
🔹 Delete all cookies when you close your browser
For guidance on how to manage cookies in your specific browser, visit your browser's help documentation.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
