Join H.R.Y.O Human Rights Youth Organization A.P.S. and Palma Nana Coop. Soc. in a powerful environmental and community-based ESC project in Palermo, Italy 🇮🇹.
This 6-month experience takes place in Terra Franca, a former Mafia-confiscated land now being transformed into a green, safe and accessible community space. 🌱🏞️
Since 2019, HRYO has been reactivating this abandoned area and turning it into a symbol of regeneration, sustainability and civic participation.
As a volunteer, you will:
🌿 Clean and restore the natural space after years of abandonment
🌱 Plant, garden and support long-term environmental recovery
♻️ Help transform a “no man’s land” into a shared community resource
🌍 Organise thematic events (Earth Day, Environment Day, etc.)
💡 Raise awareness around sustainability, environmental protection and public spaces
🤝 Contribute to a project that unites local residents, volunteers and youth workers
This is a meaningful opportunity for anyone passionate about environmental protection, community impact, social transformation and hands-on ecological work.
Accommodation, Food & Transport
🛏️ Volunteers will stay in shared rooms in an apartment near Palermo’s historic centre.
🍽️ Daily food allowance provided through €7/day vouchers.
🚇 Volunteers receive a metro pass for transportation.
Participant Profile
We are looking for two highly motivated volunteers who are ready to engage in environmental work, community regeneration, outdoor activities and awareness-raising initiatives.
Interest in sustainability, teamwork and community involvement is highly valued. ✨🌱
