🌟 About the Opportunity

This ESC short-term volunteering project in Trstená, Slovakia 🇸🇰 is hosted by VIAC – Institute for Youth Support and Development, a Christian Catholic NGO dedicated to youth empowerment, community engagement and value-based education. The organisation is looking for six motivated volunteers for a 2-month mission focused on supporting youth centres, camps and community centres. Volunteers share their culture, help animate activities and contribute to a dynamic Christian youth environment. All project details and role descriptions can be found on the official website.

✝️👥 Main Activities

Volunteers will take part in a variety of meaningful tasks, including:
✨ Supporting the maintenance and daily functioning of the youth centre
🏕️ Assisting with activities in youth camps
🎉 Preparing and leading workshops and events for young people
🌍 Helping in community centres and social spaces
🤝 Sharing values, culture and positive attitudes with local youth
🧒 Contributing to non-formal learning activities
Tasks may vary depending on project dates, community needs and volunteer skills.

🏡 Accommodation, Food & Transport

Volunteers stay either in the centre of Trstená or in Tvrdošín 🇸🇰 with:
🏠 Shared flats
🍽️ Monthly food allowance
💸 Pocket money
🥗 Option to have lunch at the organisation
🚆 Reimbursement of travel costs according to ESC distance rules

🎓 Training & Support

Volunteers participate in onboarding training organised by the hosting organisation to prepare them for their work with youth, camps and community activities.

👤 Participant Profile

Ideal volunteers are:
✨ Aged 18–30
✝️ Preferably with a positive attitude toward Christianity
🤝 Open to learning, teamwork and community life
💬 Able to communicate in English
👦 Experienced or interested in youth work, camps or social activities
🌍 From countries not requiring visas for short-term stays (preferred)
